What to expect in the first session?
This is an opportunity for me to get to know you and your reason/s for initiating counseling services. An initial assessment will occur in an effort to assist me in helping to understand your needs, how you cope, and your symptoms. I will ask a lot of questions that may trigger emotions that have likely been normalized to bury but know that this is beneficial as we begin to get to the root of your issues.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please call my office at 770-415-2345 and cancel at least 48 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged the full rate of the session. Insurance companies do not cover late cancellations or no-show fees.
Confidentiality Details
Your therapist will always keep everything you say to him or her completely confidential, with the following exceptions: (1) you direct your therapist to tell someone else and you sign a “Release of Information” form; (2) your therapist determines that you are a danger to yourself or to others; (3) you report information about the abuse of a child, an elderly person, or a disabled individual who may require protection; or (4) your therapist is ordered by a judge to disclose information.
How does Telehealth work?
I use a secure HIPPA compliant platform to conduct live video conferencing for clients to be seen virtually. Telehealth can be conducted anywhere through use of a computer or smartphone as long as you maintain privacy as you would in an in-person session.
